Students Learn Etiquette Skills

Ms. Sheila Armstrong is the author of "A Little Book of Etiquette" which is being sold nationally through Barnes and Noble. Ms. Armstrong visited the Life Academy to share some of the life lessons that she has learned served up with table etiquette tips for the holiday season and all year through. Starting with organizing your eating area to engaging conversation, her ideas formed a basis for a positive dining experience from fast food to elegant meals.

Students had the opportunity to practice at their table with cutlery and plates in preparation for a campus-wide celebration. Social differences with various cultures were an integral part of the discussion as some students have traveled from the Far East and Europe to the Bahamas.

Ms. Armstrong has a degree in business and education and has worked in both fields before beginning a new career as an author. As a Principal in the public school system, she worked with lots of students but called her experience at Monarch "a highlight in education". She came to the Life Academy through the Rotary Club of Houston where she volunteers and helps with Marketing and Communications planning. Sheila is a new friend of the Life Academy and The Monarch School.
