Houston Business Expo 2009 Student Report

By Robert, Monarch Post Graduate, and Willie, Monarch Challenger Student

This year, our entry into the Houston Business Expo was a very successful one. Manning the booth in addition to looking at the booths of other exhibits was very fun and enlightening. We reached out to a lot of people, not limited to the people who came to our booth. Many people at the booths we visited were curious and most were very interested. Lots of people asked questions and many more took brochures.

Although we had to adjust to some changes in transportation plans and parking was difficult, the day went very well. We sold a few books and some jewelry. This is probably due in part to this mostly being a networking event and people were not really planning on spending money. We did better than we have in previous years, however, likely because of the fact that we were mostly selling small, easily carried things.

Many business people offered us their cards and expressed a desire to get involved with our school. The services they offered included sensitive data handling, bookkeeping, and uniform producers.
