We broke ground!

 

GroundbreakingIt was an exciting day for The Monarch School on March 13th. Founder and Head of School Dr. Marty Webb and over 200 guests participated in the official groundbreaking for the school’s new 10.75 acre campus at 2815 Rosefield. Robison PanelJohn Elder Robison, author of the bestseller, “Look Me in the Eye: My Life with Asperger’s”, wrote this observation about Monarch in his Mar. 7th blog entry, after returning from a visit to The Monarch School on Mar. 5. To read John’s blog entry, click here.

 

During the day, John visited both campuses, attended the Challenger Ring Ceremony, and met with members of the Challenger Leadership council. Ms. CartyThe Apprentice Program is pleased to welcome our newest Movers & Shapers volunteer.  Anne Storey Carty, retired founding Headmistress of The Regis School and long time friend of Dr. Webb, has volunteered to read each week with a group of Monarch students.  A Day to Remember

 

A day to rememberThe Challenger fifth period Civics/U.S. Government class celebrated Martin Luther King, Jr. Day by designing learning activities for the whole campus. Student leaders facilitated various presentations and activities, including a Power Point review of Dr. King’s important work, discussion of civil rights, and viewing and discussing the movie, Remember the Titans. Flying ColorsRecently Monarch hosted a Quality Assurance Review Team to renew our accreditation with AdvancED, formerly the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. The QAR team affirmed that Monarch was excelling in the accrediting standards, with top ratings (highly functional) in every category! To read more about the review, click here. 

Supportive Partnership

 

The Monarch School is pleased to announce a partnership with the Foundation for Children with Behavioral Challenges (FCBC).  FCBC is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing education and support for caregivers to promote awareness of more enlightened, compassionate, and effective approaches for helping children who struggle with social, emotional and behavioral challenges.
