Where Are They Now?
At Monarch, the average length of time a student is enrolled is three years. About 8-10 students graduate from Monarch’s high school every year, and many others transition before graduation to public and private elementary, middle and high schools.

Periodically we like to feature those students who have transitioned or graduated from Monarch with an update on what is happening in their lives. We are fiercely proud of their continued growth and accomplishments. Visit our website to read three alumni/alumnae updates!

Quiet Strength

Members of the Alabama Coushatta tribe, which has been in our region since before Texas statehood, visited Monarch on October 7 to give a presentation on their history and culture. Sharon Miller, an educator with the Alabama Coushatta, spoke about the long history of her tribe. The Alabama Coushatta have their origins across the southeast of what is now the United States, and settled in what is now southeast Texas. Visit our website for more on this fascinating visit!

Marching to the Beat of a Different Drum

The Society for the Performing Arts (SPA) and The Monarch School continued their collaboration with a recent visit by 20 students and faculty to Jones Hall for Drumline Live, the theatrical production based on the Historically Black College and University (HBCU) marching band tradition. The students enjoyed the two hour performance of riveting rhythms, bold beats and ear-grabbing energy! Visit our website for more on this story.
