Sharon Duval is a certified speech/language pathologist who has worked the past 20 years primarily with children who have neurological differences. Ms. Duval received her certification in the DIRŪ model in 2007. Her therapy techniques incorporate using spontaneous interaction to help the child strengthen functional developmental levels while being sensitive to sensory processing differences, and building a relationship with the child and family. These techniques have proven to be beneficial in working with children who have developmental challenges.

The DIR Model was developed by Stanley Greenspan, M.D., and Serena Wieder, Ph.D., and focuses on helping the child become a thinker and problem solver. Both Dr. Greenspan and Dr. Wieder have coached Ms. Duval during her training process. Ms. Duval is excited about being able to integrate the DIR model into the important work that is happening at The Monarch School and being able to reach as many children and families as possible.

Besides working directly with Monarch students, Ms. Duval is available for outpatient DIR services throughout the week. For further information, please call Stacy Reddoch at 713.479.0800 or 713.933.0568.
