Austina is a native of Antigua, a Caribbean island in the British West Indies. She resided in Ventura California for 9 years before relocating to the Houston area. Her education includes a Bachelor Degree in Science from the University of Phoenix in Business Management with a concentration in Human Resources. Austina is enrolled within an Alternate Teacher Certification program and is pursuing her Master’s Degree in Psychology through an online program.

Austina has been teaching in special education for three years with a focus of Developmental and Adaptive Behavior. Prior to teaching she had a career in the medical field, as a vocational nurse within the Navy. Austina has a passion to help students to reach their maximum potential. She believes it takes special individuals to work in this area of education. In her spare time, she enjoys going to her son’s soccer games, volunteering with Wounded Warrior Project, and tutoring. Austina is very grateful to begin her new journey with The Monarch School and to be part of a compassionate team making a difference in students’ lives.
