Lisa Theriot, B.S.

Professional Educator - Chrysalis Program
Professional Educators

Lisa was born and raised in Houston. She received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from The University of Houston in 2006. She then went on to get her teaching certificate and began substitute teaching while going through that process. From there she taught 2nd grade in Cy-Fair ISD for two years, followed by three years at Cy-Fair Christian Preschool in Houston, and then taught an additional year of 2nd grade in Aldine ISD.

It was during those years that Lisa, having had several students in her classes each year, as well as becoming a parent to a daughter with neurological differences herself, was inspired and influenced to continue further in her career to work with these amazing children. She then went on to work as a behavior technician at an ABA therapy clinic for a year, and obtained her EC-12th grade Special Education teaching certificate before finding The Monarch School. She instantly fell in love with everything The Monarch School has to offer its students and staff, and the methodology.

Lisa feels so blessed to have the opportunity to impact the lives of Monarch students in a meaningful way, and is excited to be able to intertwine her passion for psychology and education into one, through her teaching. She is certain she has found the field she is meant to work in and plans to continue her education even further by pursuing a Master’s degree in special education and/or counseling. In her spare time Lisa loves reading, writing, researching, playing board games, going to the beach, and spending time with her daughter and husband.
