Caroline Heard

Therapy Services Coordinator

Caroline received her B.S. in Human Development and Family Studies with a minor in Psychology from Texas Tech University and her Master of Occupational Therapy degree from The University of Texas – Rio Grande Valley. With more than 10 years of experience as an Occupational Therapist, Caroline has worked with children and young adults of all ages with a variety of neurological differences in both school and outpatient clinical settings. Caroline is a Proficient Level certified DIR Floortime provider. She has additional formal training in the Masgutova Neurosensorimotor Reflex Integration (MNRI) Method, Microcurrent Point Stimulation Therapy System, the Handwriting Without Tears Program, and the Size Matters Handwriting Program. 

Caroline's special interests in therapeutic interventions focus on sensory integration, reflex integration, child-led interventions, self-regulation skills, social emotional skills, and functional daily living skills. She looks most forward to helping each learner reach their full potential and gain improved functional daily living skills at school, at home, and in their greater community.  With a strong appreciation for collaborative teamwork, Caroline is eager to serve The Monarch School and Institute community in her role as the Therapy Services Coordinator, where she oversees the Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Music Therapy teams. In her free time, Caroline enjoys spending time with her family and her dog, reading, traveling, hiking, and cheering on the Red Raiders & the Astros.
