College Exam Prep with STEM/Robotics
Group A: PSAT/SAT Prep
This program will prepare students for the PSAT and SAT by introducing the format and providing instruction on practice questions across reading, math, and writing. Our goal is to boost skills and build confidence for these important standardized tests.Group B: TSI Prep
In this course, students will focus on the TSI (Texas Success Initiative) test, a state-mandated exam assessing readiness for college-level coursework. Students will take practice tests to pinpoint areas for improvement, and the coursework will be individualized to address specific needs in reading, writing, and math.
STEM/Technology & Robotics Challenge
In the afternoons, both groups will join a hands-on STEM program, diving into Technology, Robotics, and Makerspace activities. Led by experienced instructors, students will participate in high-level challenges using science, math, and technology to solve real-world problems, such as designing water systems on a desert island or assembling robots using VEX code. Robotics will include a focus on manufacturing and assembly line designs.
Electives & Field Experiences
Students can choose an elective from Team Physical Activities, Art, Chess, or Musical Theater. Additionally, there will be Thursday Field Experiences during weeks 1, 2, 4, and 5, including volunteering at local animal shelters, zoo visits, career exploration, and beach cleanups.
Program Duration
